Another Finish

Here's the quilt I just finished yesterday. Limited quilting on this one, I finally had to take the machine in yesterday. I don't know if it's the foot pedal or something in the computer, but after I've started stitching for awhile it doesn't want to go. I wind up stomping on the pedal over and over again, too aggravating to keep on like this. I hope it's a simple fix. But it had been way too long since a maintenance check so it's time for a good going over anyway. I dragged out the old (and I mean
old) Kenmore and was surprised it still sews beautifully and I attached
the binding on with it. I don't know if I'll go back and do some more
quilting on it when I get the machine back, the batting says every 4
inches and this is every 6 inches, in the sashings only.

It's a beauty. Probably worth going back to do some more quilting when you get your machine back. The colors in that are gorgeous.

Very nice, Rita! I hope your machine is an easy fix, too...kinda sounds like a broken wire in the pedal.

Beautiful quilt! At the retreat last year, I had the same thing happen. Turns out the circuit board in the foot went out. I bought a new (used) foot from my repair store and have been going like crazy since. Good luck!

That photo doesn't do justice to that yummy background fabric. It was a large cut of batik that I had saved aside for a very long time, in fact I can't remember where or when I bought it. So when I got all that gifted fabric recently and had to re-do my fabric closet and storage, I saved it aside along with some smaller cuts of batiks, hand-dyes and jewel-like colors. I worked off the colors in the background and picked colors that were in it. Except for the one light blue one which isn't in the background but I think it sparkles against the other colors. I really am glad I used the black for the star points and sashing, it really sets all those colors off. This is one that I'm very pleased about the result color-wise.
