Toning down Tuscany

We just purchased a beautiful home that is full of buttery yellow, orange, bronze. It's too pretty (and expensive) for a complete overhaul but would love some paint suggestions for a more Texas, transitional look.

I was expecting Tuscany overload but was very pleased it was not! Your new home is quite beautiful, and adding redoing your fireplace in the mix of Austin stone in white and tobacco stain (your pic above) will go a long way to giving your home a more Texas hill country type feel. I love the ceiling too, it has the right Texas vibe. Hopefully all the talented decorators will chime in, but you have a lovely home and so much to work with!

And I would add more neutral paint on the walls..

I love the slate blue island idea.

The fireplace is going to be changed to a stone one similar to the one below

I would stick with a neutral like Benjamin Moore Navajo White! It's very rich and will tone it down.

Kitchen range top wall · More Info

IF I get brave enough was considering painting the island similar to this one. This image is the exact granite we have, and hoping to bring in a slate, grey/blue.

Thank you! It is very subtle, and was hoping a little paint and great furniture would give us our Texas Hill Country while we are homesick for it in Alabama!

I'd take down all the wispy little curtains on the kitchen and dining windows, too, as they feel a bit old-fashioned for the look you're going for. Could leave off, do patterned valences, or roman blinds.
