Beverly and her husband, Bruce, were in Ft. Collins visiting their daughter, Melissa and we had a chance to get together for lunch today. It was fun meeting a fellow quilter from the forum, as well as her husband and daughter. We had a great time - and it passed all too quickly! If you ever get a chance to meet others from the forum - DO IT!!! It is awesome.

You are so right, Sue. I had the great pleasure of meeting Sharon (GeezerFolks) when she visited Minneapolis several years ago and Linda (Toolgranny) when we were both vacationing on Maui a couple of years ago. The bonds we form on this quilting forum are amazing, as is meeting the other members in person. I can't wait until I can go to one of the retreats. Until then, if anyone comes to Minneapolis, April through December, or Maui, January through March, I'd love to meet you.

How cool! I'm so glad you got to meet. I was able to meet a quilter from another forum once and it was like we were life-long friends.

Lois, we'll be at the Minneapolis airport for a few hours on Aug. 11. LOL

There are so many of us in central FL. We should try to schedule a get together.

Donna, before security screening, I would have been able to meet you and spend a little time. Now, I can't get to the gate, and you certainly don't want to leave the secured area only to be screened again. Too bad.

What a great idea to have a Central Florida chapter meeting of the forum. I hope you can do it. Does anyone know what Kate in Orlando is doing these days. I miss her posts.

Lois, I miss Kate, too! One of my DH's sisters lives in Mpls and I'm afraid she's going to insist on trying to get together when we are at the airport.

I met Sue/Polardreams that same way as we met in Boulder, CO. You feel like you've known them for years on that first meeting. Lois, too. Quilters are all such friendly, giving people. I'm glad you got to do this.

It was great to meet Sue this week. Funny how there is no shortage of conversation when we meet our fellow quilters. I highly recommend it.

Hi all, Kate's is alive and well. She had knee issues which stated is August of last year, finally had knee replacement surgery in February and just went back to work recently. She is still sewing, but not as active. We did a small, 4 person, block party this past year...we just sent each other all of our blocks. Two gals in Florida, two in Maryland.

I'll send her your good wishes and again let her know she is missed on the forum.

Sue, wanted to let you know the resale craft store has fabric for $.50/lb. And I think you said it was in your zip code. I didn't make it there, maybe next year.

I love meeting up with quilt buddies! I met LindaOH a few times when she lived closer to Ft Wayne, saw Bev on my way to Chicago to see my sister, met a couple more in Indiana from another forum (we shop hopped) and another one even came to the funeral home to meet me when I was there for my mom's viewing. Met her another time, too. Then there's that Lois who introduced me to the Blue Bamboo.......I left a little $$ there. I've been to retreat twice so met those ladies and a few spouses, too. Love the hugs quilters give. I'll only be up there a month this year, so not much time to lolly-gag around.......... I'm happy!
