Today's most graceful length for sheers is floor length. In Victorian times, a sill or apron length would have been fashionable for lace curtains. Take a look at the wood trim to see where you can put mounting brackets for curtain rods. Many people find they prefer shorter curtains if there's a dog or cat around to add wear and tear.

Metal Venetian blinds would be traditional, too. Blinds should stop at the sill length.

Looks like a great space! I'd recommend roman shades mounted inside the window frame so you can show off the beautiful molding. In the living room, I'd start it below the arched window, or if you want to get shades for each window, start each below the arch. In the bedroom, I'd cover the top window, since it doesn't give you anything as far as view or light - once again, either one shade or two.

Oh, and one other thought, when you have the budget: I think the sill in the living room is begging to be made into a window seat with comfy pillows and a comfy cushion... with lots of storage below.

Beautiful space. I would recommend going with a shades/blinds rather than curtains, you have such beautiful trim around those windows, you don't want that to be hidden!
