Cathy, it's hard to know proportion based on your picture, but it's possible your light green sans might be an intermediate-sized trifasciata variety called 'Moonshine'. This has the same coloration as the full-sized 'Silver Queen' but is shorter and has a wider leaf. An even smaller variety with the same pale green color exists, which is called 'Silver Hahnii'.

I might be able to confirm one or the other if I knew how tall the striped trifasciata plants are in your pic.

Hi Russ, the longest on both pieces is 18?inches. The wide light green is 3 inches wide. Sorry I took so long. Worked late. It looks like they come from the same root. I think I'll make three smaller pots. I may give one to my sister.

I think your light green sans are 'Moonshine', 18 inches is about max height for that variety and 3 inches is perfect for the width.

How wide are the leaves on the green trifasciatas? If they're also 3 inches then they're a variety called 'Robusta', if they're much less than that they're species trifasciata and probably not connected to the 'Moonshine' plants by rhizomes.

If you separate the plants I'd be interested to know what's connected to what.

Ok Russ1023, here are my potted up sans. I gave my sisters some that separated while cleaning. I removed the soil from them and left them to callus over for a few days and now they are potted up in perlite and cactus soil. It's not 50/50 because I ran out of perlite. More like 25/75 the more being cactus soil. I won't water them in until tomorrow. Here's their picture in my mirror spray painted dollar pots:

Everything in the two side pots are connected. The middle pot is two separate plants.

They are not even in the pots as to let the new plant stem grow out.

Do these pots have drain holes in the bottom? Excess water must be able to drain out of the pot through drain holes.

Yes. They have drain holes. I use a hot screwdriver on these types of pots to make the holes. I drench each pot in the sink with warm water till all the soil is moist then I let the pot sit in the sink for a while. After they drip I set them on clear plastic plates.

I reuse gallon milk jugs; I fill them with water at least 24 hours before watering, that way the water is at room temperature. A trick I picked up from when I lived in Florida where the tap water has chlorine in it. But it works great to allow the water to come to room temperature. I think you are going to enjoy your new plants!

Just an update to let you guys know that these plants are doing fine. They seem to be fast growing as the little root that were sticking up have formed into beautiful babies.
