Explain this again, please. I can't quite figure out what happened and what your question is.

My Sum & Substance had a sport that was evidently stronger than S&S because it took over and no S&S is left. The sport has deeply veined pie crusted leaves. The second flush of leaves on this sport is like a completely different plant with smooth round leaves.

I am looking for a name for when the second flush of leaves looks very different than the first. I think something similar happens with Guardian Angel's second flush, for example, because it often comes up solid coloured without ruffling.

It' s the first time I've heard it, Jekyll & Hyde it is, then.

'Jekyll and Hide' is the name of the reverse sport of 'Rhino Hide'...blue center with a gold margin. This name has been used in my garden for several years, but the hosta is not registered.
