Chairs to go with table

I am looking for ideas for chairs to use with the attached table. We have ordered the table and a bench for one side. The wooden chairs were too "matchy" and heavy for my style.

Upholstered chairs would soften the look but with two small kids I am not interested in the upkeep of upholstered dining chairs right now.

There is an office area attached to the dining area with white cabinetry where the same chairs could go.

I have considered a metal chair but I'm looking for some other ideas to consider.

Out kitchen is white with a dark grey island. The counters are Ceasarstone ocean foam. Flooring is a medium brown maple. I have attached pictures of our island pendants and dining table light.

Thanks for any ideas.

Since I hate sitting on metal chairs ( even outdoors), why don't you consider some upholstered in Sunbrella fabrics for indoors? Or leather. Won't the children gravitate towards the bench? Friends who have a similar table & bench, I've noticed the children sit on the bench while I'm there.

You can mix 2 slipcovered (washable) at the head(s) if there is room for legs with this trestle with a more simple chair on the long sides.

Otherwise, if you can go with a more top notch slipcovered linen or linen look for the heads of the table in a parsons style as it's not a heavy look. Then Pottery Barn. Not sure if you can keep the kids off the head of the table chairs :)

Agree with above about the bench... kids to gravitate toward them for some reason!

I would imagine the kids will be on the bench. That was the idea behind it anyway. Potty training and spaghetti sauce make be very wary of upholstery.

Perhaps a slip cover or leather is an option. Thank you for the suggestions.

I just wondered if there were any ideas other than the metal that would go with this style to consider.

There are some X back chairs that would look very nice.... Not sure you would like them... they would go nicely with the slip covered chairs... You can have some made out of a nice washable fabric over some inexpensive parsons chairs. I just like how they look as they add a, "pretty" look.

Are you set on the table you found? I think the ONLY way you can do this is the a leaf or extension table... not a fixed 79" you would be so unhappy I think... not sure.. I would be.

Need the height of the table you end up with... best option is if you get the one you last show that can be made smaller you check the chairs and their height so you know best the chair seat height to table. As I mentioned... should work with most dining chairs... not all.

I'll send you a photo of the X back chairs....

I believe this is washable..... it's 80 viscose and 20 linen you would need to check.

Also another that is gray and it's poly blend.

Options other than a faux leather seat are limited...

    Gigi wood chair

The first X back has a tightly woven seat the other is wood.

The X back with the woven seat comes in multiple colors.
