Hi, thanks for your inquiry and glad you like the fireplace surround finish! Its a venetian plaster finish with a matte sheen coat of wax sealer. The manufacturer's color spec is 'Abalone'. Specialty Team Plastering in Santa Barbara did the work. We framed the fireplace surround shape using metal studs then applied gypsum board over the metal studs. The venetian plaster gets coated over the gypsum board. Simple and very cost-effictive compared to a masonry veneer or wood mantle!
