This is very hard to picture. For example, how does a sliding glass door constrain the *depth* of a cabinet? We need a floorplan with a sketch of what you're trying to do.

Ah! there are a variety of ways to handle that, ranging from a curved final cabinet, to a bunch at 24" and then a bunch at 18", to stopping a bit short and putting a shallow pantry or bookcase in the gap.

If you picture a U shaped area where the cabinets will go, the dimensions are 19" deep, 10.5' along the wall and then a 42" deep wall on the right side.

Thank you acm. Our house is very small and I was thinking that maybe a 24" deep 30" wide pantry would be useful on the right side and then 18" deep base cabinets all the way across to the slider. I'd like to put wood shelves up above the base cabinets to display dishes, hubby's extensive coffee items, etc. since his espresso machine, etc. will be on this countertop. And thinking shelves vs. cabinets all the way up would help keep it feeling more open since its a small space to begin with?

Thank you so much! I decided to do an 18" deep sink base cabinet on the left (for a prep sink) and then 24" deep cabinets all the way across to the right. The last cabinet on the right will have an 18" deep cabinet sitting on top of the countertop (a sort of recessed pantry type of thing) which hopefully will help balance out the 18" deep sink base on the left side. I'm then going to paint the wall a dark color (the rest of the walls are a sand color) and add a couple of reclaimed wood shelves to help fill in the wall space. Will post a pic when done.

I love that! Definitely adds some character. Your cabinets, sink and countertop are almost identical to mine. Nice taste! :-)

This is a very shallow kitchen pantry. Very little floor space is lost and nothing can hide.
