Your tv is too large and will be too high if you hang it over the fireplace. Exceptionally high for gaming. Why not invest in a nice cabinet where it is.

@mocreidhl The room is on the small side. There's seemingly no good way to have seating and a tv.. it also HAS to be mounted because we have small children who like to bang against the TV if it's low. With the one wall being majority archway, it limits where we can put couches or TV. We measured and the TV will fit (looks deceiving in the pictures) but were worried that it'd be a strain on the neck.

My husband mostly games on his PC so these systems are mostly netflix and occasional gaming from me. Maybe we will just invest in a smartv for this room and use a spare bedroom for "gaming" until our basement is finished.

@graywings123 They are technically 'bathroom cabinets.' I was having a difficult time finding something that met my needs when looking at more traditional living room furniture.

You can mod the PS4 so that it can be stored in a closet or somewhere else like a closet, so that it does not have to be right there. We have done that with one of our PS4s that we use in our outdoor movie theater. I do not know about the wii.

While I am all for wall-mounted tvs, I would never mount one above that fireplace (or really any fireplace). They make the viewing angle too high. Plus, it limits you to really tiny tvs.

@smit2380 Briefly looking up info on doing the same for the wii and finding conflicting perspectives so I will look more into it at a later time. There is a coat closet close by that this idea could work so thank you. Where the TV is right now is just not functional unless we want the couch in the middle of the room (and it's already small). We could put it in the corner where the sitting chair is but that window gets direct sunlight in the morning which isn't ideal for electronics, though maybe a corner cabinet could hide the screen from the direct sunlight.

The tv and console look fine where they are. You could mount it there and get a floating console. I'm not sure about it looking small, but this room really needs some type of seating facing the tv. Perhaps a love seat. It doesn't really look to small to have the couch facing the tv. It doesn't work having the couch where it is now.

@mocreidhl, I like the idea of a floating console. This is all preemptive.. we're supposed to close in two weeks. It'll be easier for me to mess around with our furniture once we've got it all in. We'll try a couch/love seat more in the middle of the room.. the room isn't very deep which is giving my reservations on that idea. My husband is also set on getting a sectional which might not be the best set up for the size of the room. Thank you

Sorry, Ashley! I did not read correctly that this was not your furniture. Sectionals limit your arrangement choices.

If your room is tight a sectional is a big mistake. How about giving us room dimensions and we can do layouts that help you avoid errors.
