I'd stick with the white quartz marble look. Is that your final paint color? Rather warm for either selection, is why I'm asking : )

Your kitchen is going to be lovely. Can you get a similar sample of the quartz and put it next to your cabinets? It may be perfect, or you may want to find a quartz that has some different tones. I like the lighter color flooring you showed.

We have a marble look quartz and love the near-zero care. Mostly I just wipe down with a wet rag and then dry.

Yes Jan. This is the existing paint color which continues to the eating area and the family room. Do you think I should change it? What color do you suggest?

I think the cabinets are lovely. Some pics for inspiration. I like the marble effect, has some movement. Love the look of the marble countertop carried on as the backsplash, just a thought

Thank you Irene. The photos you picked are lovely. The problem is that my husband is insisting on natural stone rather than man made quartz.
Also I am scared that this trend of white on white and quartz would go out of style soon even though I love the look of it now. I tried to find whiter granite but in my local slab yard was not possible.

I actually had a small sample of my cabinet which is creamy white with me in the slab yard and I have posted the second one also to show it has variation in color.

I had the sample of the sample of the cabinet which is creamy white with me when I picked the slabs. I thought it would go well with it.
Plus both pics are the same flooring in different light. It mostly looks like the first photo but I posted the second one to show that it has some variation in color. The flooring will continue to the kitchen.

This is Wilsonart Santiago quartz which we plan to install with white subway tile and provide some contrast with white cabinets.

Well you will not go wrong with either. It's a good idea to reach an agreement with your spouse! The granite you showed will look really well with the wood floor. I look forward to seeing finished pictures.

When I refinished the kitchen I stayed with white, because I like it and have had a white kitchen for 20 years (since brown kitchens were "in")

I'm a natural stone person and would have chosen the granite. Quartzite (a natural stone that is NOT the same as quartz!) would be beautiful in your kitchen! Take a look at it, it's much more durable than marble!

I love the first one and it would look nice and sleek if you have same splash back. Your kitchen is very nice and modern why do you need those two country style decorations on the island it just look odd.

PS if you remove the decorations you could have stone front as well or "water fall edges " that's what they call it here in Australia.

90% of kitchens are all doing marble looking quartz so I'd do something different.

Beverly, I like quartzite too, but it almost would increase the budget for counter top close to double and we went back and forth on it and we decided to stay on budget.

Oskuee, most of my decor around the house is traditional and I thought the corbels would tie the kitchen to the rest of the house.

We have decided on white colonial granite.

Now, I have a new question. Our home is kind of chopped up by walls or stair case which separating different rooms from each other.
There is a very short hallway to the kitchen which has been framed by some walls. I think to make the space feel more open, I like to remove those wall and flush the ceiling with the rest of the kitchen.
Plus I was told that these wall are not load bearing walls.
What are your thoughts.

I think it would look fine open, but doubt it would be worth the cost. Didn't you say your painting was already done?

So, you think I should not consider it. I so badly wanted it to happen.
Also today I was told it might even be a load bearing wall since the floor joists are running perpendicular to the wall.
But there is no other wall on top of it in the second floor. I don't understand how could it be a load bearing wall.

I have painted the house 3 years ago and I did not have any plan to change it after the renovation, just some touch ups if it's needed.
But if this color is not right for the space, I can change it with some thing that goes better
