How to design bathroom around this countertop

We are renovating our spare bathroom, and are looking for advice on what matches with this brownish granite countertop. The rest of our house is going to be whites with some gray accents and a warm blonde wood floor. This countertop doesnt really fit the decor so we are considering looking for remnant counters but so far even those have been pricey with fabrication. If we kept these countertops, how do you suggest we style the flooring and and the shower? We are planning on painting to cabinets, either a dark stain or white. The shower has a tub. There is no natural lighting, which makes it difficult to keep with our preference for light, clean, natural lines. Any thoughts?

Can you provide a photo of the whole room or more of the room? No photos of the shower/flooring....

Is the bath used by children/teens, etc. or just an extra bath?

I see the cabinets in a slight off white tone...something such such as the lightest tone in the counter. However, a dark color would be pretty... I fear dark as you say, "no natural light". If it's a small bath I'd go with light vs. dark as another thought along with no natural light.

One of my baths has a similar granite, I had the cabinets painted a slightly off white ( as suggested by Porter ) & the walls painted in Ralph Lauren "Raffia", I decided it was best to not fight it, it seemed to tone it down when I used complimentary colors. I used brushed nickel hardware with it.

i agree with the idea of off white cabinet to match the lightest color and i also have brushed nickel hardware! :D i didnt provide pictures of the shower/floor because it is covered in tools and dust and also because i am looking to change everything to fit the countertop. the floor is currently just concrete, since we already pulled it up, and the shower is just a standard tub and shower. here are more pictures to get an idea of layout though. im primarily interested in flooring and shower tile ideas. thanks!

and forgot to answer: no children currently, is just the spare bathroom so primarily guests for now. kids planned eventually but not for another 3-5 years. :D
