Family room with wainscoting

Walls are painted Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist, need help deciding color for wainscoting. I painted up some old cabinet doors for color options. Door on the left is BM Cumulus Cloud, middle door is BM La Polama Gray, the right door is BM Classic Gray.

Wouldn't you just paint it the same color as your trim?

Wainscoting is a trim. Usually it is best as that trim color anywhere else in your home. I assume that is WHITE

I have not decided on paint colors for the other rooms, such as kitchen, but the breakfast room will have the same colors as the family room once I decide. Just need to know whether to go with the lighter color (classic gray), medium color (cumulus cloud), or darker color (la Paloma gray) for the wainscoting. The walls I have painted balboa mist. Thank you!

Yes but what color is your trim? The stuff around your doors, windows, and your baseboards?

I'm thinking of doing baby's breath for the trim (crown molding) and super white for the ceiling

Currently, all the wainscoting and all trim is pickeled finish. Hate it

Here's another pic of the room. Should I do the doors the same color as the wainscoting or crown molding?

Does the wainscoting have to be the same color as the crown molding?

Yes, all of the wood and trim and molding gets painted the same color. Also looks like you are missing baseboards...

And the kitchen cabinets, are you leaving them pickled?

Garsus! you do not hear what Jan is telling you. Trim ( ceiling molding is trim too) and wainscoting are the same color.

I would go with light color-classic gray.

Can you try flipping those doors around to see if the arches can go on the inside?

Also get hidden hinges so no hinges are visable. Makes a huge difference.

Wainscoting is a TRIM, Trim color, unless the SAME as walls, should remain consistent throughout a home. Trim is door and window casings, baseboards , crown molding, and WAINSCOTING. Exception might be doors highlighted/ painted in black. That is about it. Don't complicate a simple and beautiful thing : )

It is true that some people paint their walls white and then their trim a different color. But they are consistent throughout the whole space and house.

Sounds like I need to paint my walls darker color (cumulus cloud) and all trim lighter (classic gray). I currently have quarter round instead of baseboards, will consider changing to baseboards, I think will look better painted same color as all trim.

Here is a pic of my kitchen. I am considering new cabinets without the cathedral/arches and with hidden hinges. Since my kitchen is not on external walls, it does not have much natural light. This is why I think I need to go with the lighter trim color (classic gray). I don't want true white cabinets so I think this is a good compromise. However, I don't think the classic gray goes well with my granite and backsplash. Any suggestions for what to change the countertops and backsplash to? You all have been a tremendous help! Thank you

Get some design help please, before you waste money? I see no reason for gray here. At all. It
is NOT good with those counter tops. You are way, way ahead of yourself.
Refine your kitchen idea.......cabinets, flooring, counter tops. Paint is DEAD LAST.. In any
    case.....you're out of "design order" : )

and those cabinets appear pink..... !! I doubt you want that.

Maple? what about cool lighting, etc.. etc.... instead?

Do you know any designers in the Dallas area to recommend?

I just wanted to say thank you for posting the photo of the painted doors - I am considering Cumulus Cloud or La Paloma Gray for my kitchen cabinets (my walls are Classic Gray), so I found it very helpful.
