Lots of varieties start looking a bit shabby after bloom season is over. Some of mine look MUCH worse than yours from July on through September when I cut them back, others look nice right up until the leaves are damaged by frost. If you think they're stressed I'd give them a bit more shade during the summer, I use patio chairs but there are really pretty umbrellas sold by Cricket Hill....

Thanks for the advice. Since they we're newly planted this year and each looked stress a bit differently, I was concerned. I was particularly concerned about the spotty leaf coloring on the first one.

The first pic doesn't look like any peony disease I recognize. Do you remember the variety name? Some are more apt to have issues than others. If it's a variety other members have we can compare foliage as well, get an idea of what it looks like in other gardens.

The peonies haven't changed much, but they still look less than healthy. Any thoughts?
