First, Rose of Sharon is not a rose at all but a hardy hibiscus shrub (Hibiscus syriacus). Water rooted cuttings can be potted up in any decent potting soil. I would grow them on in the containers/pots outdoors (these are not houseplants!!) until they were large enough to be planted outside.........possibly this fall but more likely next spring. You will need to put them somewhere protected for the winter if you plant in spring.

I don't plan on keeping them in the house, we have a couple of these outside and wanted more.

I will go ahead and put them in pot and place them outside.

What is considered "large enough" to plant outside?
