I think It's a good size master bathroom. That's bigger than the average front bathroom. I am trying to work with a 4'x6' master bath, going into the closet for more space. That size can give you plenty of room for everything you need.

It's disproportionate to itself. way too long and skinny. A 100K+ project like this needs paid professional design help to walk you through the pitfalls.

More information would be helpful! 6 x 17 is 102 sq ft. Our master bath is only 8 1/2 x 11. So less sq ft, but maybe allows for a more conventional layout. We used a tub/shower combination, but also his & her vanities (48" each), plus a dressing table, and additional floor to ceiling cabinetry for storage.

Would it be possible to divide the 6 x 17 area, say a toilet area with a pocket door, and then layout the vanities, shower, & tub in the other part?

There is such a wide array of fixtures (& sizes), and you need to start with anything that won't be changed (windows, door, etc.) to make sure you can work around that.

Also, is this DIY or completely hired out? Yes, you have a nice size master bdrm, so how does that work in the layout & access wise.

Personally I think it can be relatively efficient to have one of the dimensions of the bathroom be close to the dimension of the length of the shower or bathtub so six isn't bad. It depends on where doors and windows are and whether there is closet space as to whether the 17 makes sense.

What are your main priorities in the new bathroom? Do you want a tub and a separate shower, double sinks, lots of storage, separate WC room? The width might prohibit all items being included so in addition to window and door placement priorities might need to be figured out as well.
