Hi Madonna - I don't see any variegation on your plant. Is it possibly Fried Green Tomatoes instead?

Its possible I bought it from a vegetable farm that had hostas, tag said guacamole, but I noticed the same thing. I thought it was bc of the sun. Every year I look for the variegation, maybe I might label her Fried green tom. tks.

My guac has very little variagation also. Could be the amount of sun or probably more likely another variety of Guacamole - the hosta world is kinda like that. Many photos of guacs display poor variagation. At the bottom of my favorite hosta list. Almost split mine this week to put one in the shade but moved something else instead. At least my guac isn't riddled with holes like the above (holey sh**)!

My Guacamole grows in a fair bit of sun and the variegation is hardly noticeable too...but it is there if I look closely. If photo is enlarged you can see a darker margin on a lot of leaves. It definitely shows visibly in more shade. I see a couple of flower stalks too - if you hadn't posted, Madonna it would have passed me by until I noticed open flowers. Thanks! I enjoy the pre-bloom bud stage - on some hostas they look like goose necks, lol.
