Karin, I think you mean the one in the picture above Little Miss Sunshine? Behind Blaze of Glory, the green with the wavy piecrust edge is Clovelly.

Is it recommended to cut the flowers off for any reason?

@tina_nel only if you think they look ugly. Shouldn't affect the plant's growth either way.

tina_nel, what teuth said. Some people want the hostas for their leaves only and don't like when the flowers come on. I like them and look at it like it's just part of the seasonal progression hostas go through. I see butterflies, moths, and hummingbirds enjoying the hosta flowers, as well. Depending on the hostas, if you let the flowers go to seed, you might get seedlings next spring. Usually plain green ones, but you never know when you'll find something special. As far as I know, the flowers/seeds don't take away any energy from the hosta for next spring's show.

teuth, Little Miss Sunshine has overhead trees so gets bright light until the afternoon, and then as the sun moves across......I'm guessing 2-3 hours of more direct sunshine until it gets solid shade from the house in late afternoon. HTH.
