Is that a bedroom off the kitchen? Where does that door next to the bedroom go to? If is it possible I would drywall the bedroom door and make a new entrance to the bedroom from the door next to it. I would put the refrigerator on that newly created wall space. I would put the dishwasher on the right side of the sink. I would replace the stove with a new oven cooktop with a built in microwave and fan. If the bulk heads can be removed, you could go with taller top cabinets. In the old refrigerator area could have a pantry.

The doorway to the bedroom is actually part of a hallway... the door you see goes to the master bedroom. To the right of that is a linen closet, then another bedroom, and then a bathroom at the end of the hall. Seems like it would be hard to really gain space there. Haha.

Removing the bulk head is a great idea and I already know it can be done!

Consider having a peninsula coming off where the fridge is to provide additional counter space by moving the fridge towards the back of the kitchen near the corner microwave.

Although quite handy when you want a cold pop during a game, the fridge juts out into the living area too much. I'd tuck it on the wall next to bedroom door, and put in a new stainless double door fridge so it's not a large door swinging into a small wall space.
I'd extend the countertop where the fridge was, so you have somewhere to place food before carrying it over to the table, it's also a great spot on the counter for a nice bouqet.

I'd have to agree with Dytecture, I'd install a peninsula where the fridge was, add seating there, and relocate the fridge to the wall where your microwave sits. You should also consider installing a microwave with a vent above the range.
