Replacement for Downed Palo Verde

We had a storm last night that took the crown off of our 16 year old Palo Verde.

It wasn't ideal for the situation anyway because the tree really wants to spread out wide and tall, but the space is more narrow and close to the sidewalk, in the front, and right next to the neighbor's property. But it was great for shading the southwest corner of the house.

Any suggestions for a replacement? Something more columnar, and less messy, that doesn't demand a lot of water once established, would be ideal.
