I like aluminum clad windows and if going contemporary i would stay away from unusual odd shaped windows.

Personally in your climate I would use Intergrity Wood Ultrex by Marvin. they would be fiberglass with a wood interior.

Thanks for the input. I may have misspoke about the windows. They are not an unusual shape- you can see in the architectural drawing, There are a lot of different

sizes and a lot of fixed windows. I really like the look of aluminum clad- with a drywall wrap interior, to make it appear trim less- perhaps add sills to some windows Was sent Martin Integrity line, not sure about the wood interior- especially if we are going to have to paint it anyway. This house will be more modern with rustic touches. Are there other window companies that either of you have experience with. Pella came in at 30k and Martin at 60k ;(

I've used Pella and Andersen windows for 30 years and had no issues with either. I have Andersen in my own home. I looked at the Pella fiberglass on the web and it looks like a good window. When I get time i'll talk to a rep and a customer to see how well they've been performing. I seen and installed a lot of windows and I can not see nor justify a 30k difference.
