Update and paint this nook, or buy new kitchen bench seating?

I have updated my kitchen with white marble counters and updated cabinets, however I have this old nook that either needs to get updated or thrown out. It's pretty decent quality.


1. do I paint it white and put cushions on it so it's comfortable?

2. what do I do with the space where there is that one chair in the picture?

3. or do I get new cushioned bench furniture for that area?
