Goji Berry Experiences

Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody who grows Gojis has experienced this: Mine was grown from bareroot stock and is a sizable bush now in an enormous pot (I won't be able to move it...). It has pretty much full sun all day except evenings and grows well. It flowers and makes berries that are not enough to save and dry, but plenty to munch on when passing. After planting it into this large pot, it grew vigorously, flowered, made berries, then, as the berries were ripening, ALL leaves fell off and all I had was bare stems with berries. Since the stems were flexible, I left it alone, stopped all watering, added some fireplace ash and left it alone. Lo and behold, after about a month, it is sprouting new leaves, very full, and has a whole new bunch of flower buds. Has anybody ever experienced this? Maybe I upset it by watering or planting in too rich a potting soil?

I'm not complaining since it is coming back with vigor, but how odd.
