That slate is so porous, I think you are stuck with it until it fades out.

Unfortunately, because it's not a flat surface, you are pretty much out of luck. I won't even describe the process as it won't help you (as it isn't a flat surface). Hate to say it, but if this is just freshly set, and you can't live with it, tear it out immediately. Sooner the better.

Grab a fire extinguisher just in case, then give it a bath in lacquer thinner.

Like all porous stones, slate will absorb grease, it will stain, and it may also chip if banged by a pan accidentally - although this slate has been installed above a 4" laminate bs so the latter is less of an issue.

Help,, I have the same problem,, slate from Home Depot , the mosaic satin copper Jeffrey Court and tile guy put Laticrete enhanced sealer on it today 9-8-2017 and too dark . Lost the grays and more natural colors. Want to get it back to the lighter shade and regain some color. Is there a solution or product? The above picture is after sealer and the ones below are prior to sealing. Is time an issue to doing anything also ? Thanks for any help.
