I have a 36" FP gas range that is 8 years old. It has the two ovens which I really like. But about three years ago the larger oven developed a problem staying lit after you stop holding in the knob. It lights, then goes out. I talked to the company repeatedly about this issue. I live in the country in Montana and had no luck getting anyone to come out to repair it. Finally this year I found a repairman. When he came out though, the oven stayed lit! He replaced a small fuse that burns out, he says, with power outages -- which are frequent here in the country. But when I tried to use the oven myself it still failed me. The repairman came back, it worked again for him! Grrr. Then we discovered it worked better if you take out the bottom of the oven. Who knows why. He left and once again, the oven won't work for me.

I am about to ditch this range. The company is beyond useless, offering up nonexistent repairmen. I like my new guy but this still doesn't work. I am kicking myself for not springing for dual fuel. Should I bag the range and start over? The small oven still works and I use it plenty. But you can't get a cookie sheet in it.

Three years without the big oven seems long enough. And if the fuse is going to blow every time there is a power surge or outage, that is a deal breaker. Advice?
