Something different like what? Hostas only come in varying shades of lavender blue, purple or white. Most of us grow them for their leaves, with the added bonus of flower spikes, if you like them. Someone is trying to market a yellow one but it seems to be unavailable every time I look.

Yea that is exactly what I needed to know. I would love blue flowers! Are there any more popular varieties with blue? I haven't been home yet to check out the hosta library site. I got my first ever hosta this spring so i wasn't sure what other colors they came in

Very few are described as true blue. Hallson Gardens has one. "Hosta 'Oshima Silk': (SM) This small to medium sized hosta has spear-shaped, shiny green leaves with an attractive, relatively wide but variable cream to white edge and beautiful lavender to near-blue flowers in August. " Can you grow agapanthus where you are? Now those are BLUE!

in all reality ..... they are all purple and white ....

outside of reality ... i have been waiting about 30 years to see blue.. with my own eyes .... there have been two or 3 in that period with claims of such.. and they kinda just disappear before i ever see them ...

if chris' ever blooms.. i hope he calls me.. and i will drive over there ...

and we just went over one that claimed to be yellow ... and again ... when i see it in person.. i will believe it ..

Miracle Lemony.. the one that is supposed to bloom yellow: all I know at this time from what I see with my own eyes is that the leaves seem to be slug/snail bait ... but then again I have zillions of slugs and sails.

I have a pipsqueak (young) Miracle Lemony maybe next year it will bloom... and we shall see. I have read on here that a few others are also waiting for theirs to put up scapes and flower.

This is as close to a "blue" flower I've personally seen. An Oshima Silk seedling.
