I really like it.

It's a great quilt. However, I don't get it. What makes it a churn dash quilt? It looks like a 9 patch alternated with a quarter triangle block.

Bkay, I guess it's because the scrappy blocks are just like churn dash blocks except that the corners are squares, not half square triangles, thus making it "chunkier." Churn dash block

PS - the hourglass blocks on the bottom row go the opposite way of the others...I'm sure you meant to do that. :)

OMG, Donna. I guess that's what happens when you are determined to finish a quilt and it's 2:00 am. I often wondered how things like this happen, and now I know. Thanks for calling that to my attention. I, of course, will have to correct that, being as anal as I am. D**m it.

Now that I look at it, that was the first row I did, not the last. So it's been done for days, just sitting there - wrong. I guess the fact that I didn't notice it could be blamed on the time though.

I finished my fan quilt yesterday. Saturday I quilted it, and was trimming for the binding, when I realized the curve on the last corner didn't match the outer edge of the border. Somehow I had matched the seams up incorrectly, decided the border was too long, cut it off and kept going. So yesterday I took out the quilting in the corner, took out the fan block, added a piece to the border, then re-sewed it all. Gah.

It was a fun way to use scraps. I had cut a lot of 2.5" squares and 1.5" strips previously, and that is what I needed for the churn dash blocks. I also used some of my 2.5" strips to cut into the four 2.5" squares I needed for each block. And it was a lot of fun choosing coordinating fabrics for each block.

Love this quilt! The colors and their placement make this quilt! Nice modern twist. Another winner from Lois! I'm with Sue, Gotta save this one!
