Wall Haning for Friend's Birthday

My girlfriend had a "Celebration of Life" birthday this past weekend, and I made her a quilt wall hanging. She's been through a lot in her life and I thought this would help show how she's grown and how all the people in her life love her. I had each person at the party sign a leaf on the quilt. I found the idea from a picture on line and created it myself. I hand appliqued the leaves and tree and did a hand embroidery stem stitch for the branches. It's about 3 1/2' by 2' in size. I finished the binding at 10:30p the night before the party! Nothing like going down to the wire!
