What dividing a sedum has to do with any lawn care is a bit mysterious :-)) But yes, they are extremely easy plants to divide or propagate by splitting. Many folks do it accidentally, just by cleaning up the plant in spring - pulling off the old flower stalks often results in the removal the small, cabbage-like new growth points and these can just be replanted elsewhere to generate a new plant.
