Corded Blinds

I ordered cellular shades for 11 windows in my home from Costco/Graeber. They were just installed....and they have cords. I am not sure I specified that I wanted cordless, although that is what I thought I was getting because all the samples were cordless and we talked a lot about how we have young kids. I really did not know they even made corded blinds anymore- the word cord was never mentioned. What should I do? I am worried about having the cords in my house for safety reasons, but also because my kids will definitely break them. The quote and contract does not mention cords either.

Call the contractor and speak to them. Tell them you were shown cordless samples.

hopefully you will get this resolved. However, unless specified, all the cellular blinds I looked at came with cords unless you asked for the "cordless" option-which was an upcharge. The salesman, though, should have been better at specifying exactly which option/ options you wanted!!

I would still contact them. If the salesperson didn't specify corded/cordless to you, they should work with you the fix the issue. You need to be firm as you do not want a safety issue for your children.

Thank you for the feedback. I called the store yesterday and they got back to me today. Costco, Graeber, and the store are replacing the blinds free of charge. I am very pleased I did not think it would be that easy.

Oh yes, definitely cords are standard. Still. I have cords on all my blinds, even the new one. My son was 5 when I got mine, and there was never any issue. But he's all grown up now.
