zkathy came for a visit!!!

What a treat it was! If any of you get a chance to have someone visit your garden I would highly recommend it - especially if it is someone as warm and wonderful as Kathy!

Here are some of the Hostas that caught her attention.

Invincible

Winsome

Paul's Glory

Silver Bay - we both have it and love it.

Hanky Panky

Emerald Ruff Cut - even with deer bites.

Fire and Ice

Jaws

Mystic Star - because Kathy just got one too.

Curly Fries - Kathy has an awesome one.

I sure hope you are back in my area again Kathy, thank you for coming!!!

What a great day we had! It's so nice to be with someone interesting who is also actually interested in hostas! And Laurie's hostas are so beautiful!

Your Silver Bay is lovely! Everything looks great but that silvery frosted hosta is something else.

It is nice to know that irl (in real life) friendships are created from what started behind computer screens. :)

lindalana believe me they are not all spotless. I have one relatively new bed that has not been mulched and the dirt splashes up on them every time it rains. Except this week, it has rained here almost every day this summer. Luckily Kathy and I had a sunny day!

When I plant a new bed I fork in approx. 5" of compost and then finish with a cedar mulch that is the texture of coarse ground coffee. In some cases I use small plants/ground cover around them. In the pic of Hanky Panky there is Dianthus deltoides surrounding it. I water with a hose at the base of the plants if necessary. Thank you again for the very kind words!
