We have building permits for a second story sunroom/office addition (6' x 18') on our front deck. We are leaving a small piece of deck for roofline/water issues as well as aesthetics. We plan to have a french door so we can step out—but it may pose a problem with furniture arrangement inside the sunroom since the room is long and narrow. Instead of the door, I was thinking about making the wall a feature wall with an electric fireplace since we're not going to have a heat source in the room. Would it look funny to have a small piece of deck without a door? You wouldn't be able to tell from the outside, or the inside, for that matter, but it seems useless. Thoughts?
