Any thoughts for cook top and wall ovens? Both Bosch.

Thanks very much, not sure exactly which versions we will get but separate wall oven for sure. The side opening oven is a real plus and we are considering the flex induction top, makes sense.

How durable is the actual top? i.e. prone to scratching easily or ?

I am very careful not to slide things across cooktop. I generally wash it with soap and water and dry it with microfiber cloth. Cleans up nicely. If needed, I use Cerama Bryte Ceramic Cooktop Cleaner - especially if it looks like a scratch. I have mine short of 2 years.

The microfiber cloth is key to keeping it looking nice. Very easy, but doesn't leave water marks like a sponge does.

It's important to lift rather than drag. Salt or sugar crystals can score the glass, leading to eventual breakage. Wipe them up immediately, don't use cookware with burrs on the bottom (or sand them off) and don't drag pans around and you shouldn't have a scratching problem.

Bosch ovens and cooktops are generally mentioned with favor here.

Be aware that most native sounds to cooktops are caused by the actual magnets doing their things. Think about light switches that burp when you close the circuit. The whines, pings, and more objectionable sounds, however, are more often associated with clad cookware rather than the unit itself. Cast iron is your friend. It's also great to cook in, though slower to heat up fully.

I'm getting one step down from you. I'm getting the 36" 800 series as I don't need the flex induction hobs.

Also since I rarely use the oven, I'm going with the Bosch 500 oven. I had the 800 in my condo and was very happy with its performance.
