Seeding mistake?

So I have an area in my backyard that I recently seeded, probably about 2000 square feet. I'm new to this and didn't think much about what kind of seed to use... I just bought a bag and went for it. Well, about 5 weeks later, I have a lawn coming in that's still a little thin, but doesn't match my established lawn. My established lawn is a darker green, and I'm pretty sure it's bluegrass. The new stuff is much lighter in color and the blades are a bit course. It turns out the mix I used was predominately perennial ryegrass. As such, it's not thickening up quickly, but is growing tall very quickly.

It looks okay, just doesn't match the existing lawn at all. There is some bluegrass and fescue in the mix I used, about 20 percent. I'm worried the ryegrass will take over and I'll end up with a lawn that doesn't match. Is there anything I can do to encourage the bluegrass to take over, or is this a scrap and start again situation?
