Thank you all. The real credit of course goes to the original hybridizer and all of the others who have worked through the generations of adeniums to produce these lovely plants for us. My kudos go out to them. I'll be attempting to self this one and also bank the extra pollen to store it for future hybridizing with other cultivars.

If anyone is interested in how Magic Elf flowers age, here is the same flower after 3 days. It has faded somewhat and continued to open a little wider. I really like how the lines in the darker portions of the petals have become more pronounced.

I split this flower and attempted to collect pollen, and to self pollinate it, but as I suspected, the slight hint of double petals in the throat had deformed the anthers so there was in effect no pollen to speak of. I'll be checking other flowers later as they open to see if they produce pollenbetter. Some varieties simply do not.
