“We began working with Spencer in early 2024 on a small lower level bathroom demo and rebuild. The fact that Spencer provides both design and build services was something that played heavily in our decision to contract Haven Works. We highly recommend this type of service; and of course Spencer and Haven Works specifically. Through the design phase Spencer brought our vision to life via software based renderings, which greatly helped us visualize the space in different configurations, materials, and finishes; as well as through the delivery of material samples to our home which helped us make size, colour, and texture decisions within the project environment rather than in stores and warehouses. The demo was quick and efficient with Spencer working alongside his right-hand man Jesse; who was an absolute pleasure to have in our home. Through the entirety of the build phase Spencer, Jesse, and all of Spencer's sub-contractors were fantastic. We greatly appreciated everyone's punctuality, work ethic, attention to detail, and "no-shortcuts allowed" professionalism. We are now just over a year past completion of this project and we still could not be happier with the results. We have received so many compliments on the overall appearance, thoughtful layout, and finishes in the bathroom. We used this project to help us determine how to approach renovation of our master ensuite and upper level bathrooms, and given these results and our overall experiences throughout this project, we are very much looking forward to starting these next projects, and eventual kitchen renovation as well, all under the guidance of Spencer and team. “We retained Empire Custom homes to do a renovation of our kitchen, pantry, powder room, bathroom and shower areas. We were particularly impressed with Empire’s overall design support, material selection, customer focus and project management. Additionally with all the contractors they choose and managed directly. The full project cycle was extremely well managed right from start to finish. The home was protected extremely well to avoid dust migration, then all the demo work was done without damage and dust was very well controlled and minimal. The appliances were also removed and reinstated without any damage. We were extremely pleased with the tiling contractor and also the painter work and final cleaning prior to occupancy . Overall the work was done very efficiently and extremely well managed. The whole job was hassle free as a result of excellent project management. Their design was approved by the city development committee with no significant changes. This is a testament to their due diligence during the design process. The suite looks great and our tenants really enjoy the space. The builder easily worked from Al's blueprints and the project went smoothly from start to finish.”
