Lacquer white kitchen cabinets

I decided to do my kitchen cabinets in the BM color Linen White, however that will be a custom color and in lacquer. My cabinet selection is more traditional and I am concerned this will be too modern and shiny. What finish should I use? Semi- gloss seems to shiny. Also, the cabinets are custom made and the cabinet maker only uses lacquer or stain. Thanks Houzzers

Lacquers can be tinted to mostly any color .when It comes to satin or semi gloss it will depend on the use of the cabinets I would go semi if you have kids and animals . I personally wouldn't use lacquer it yellows over time I would use a conversion varnish

Lacquer is actually used by a lot by cabinet makers for many years what makes them look modern is high gloss and the style of the cabinets

So if I select satin sheen would it look less shiny? My concern my cabinet maker may not be as familiar with conversion varnish application. I am becoming really stressed out over this sense I am now down to the wire.

Satin is less shiny it will be very close to a oil base paint satin don't worry about the sheen . I understand about the products it's just my opinion I've been using lacquers and conversion varnishes for years I just prefer the performance or the varnish it's more durable and it won't yellow overtime
