Fiddle Leaf FIg pruning?

Hi, first time posting here. I need some advice about which direction to go with my poor fiddle leaf fig. I'm in northern New Jersey, 6b - 7a - different maps give me different zones! When i first got this plant it lost a lot of leaves but i managed to stabilize her. Unfortunately she's very leggy and the taller stem started to flop so I propped her up as you can see. I've been reading up on Al's recommendations so I plan on re-potting her into gritty mix after a root prune. My question is: after repotting and getting her into the best shape possible, how do I go forward and get the trunks thicker and more stable? I would prefer a standard form eventually so I want to spend the time to get them ready for that properly. Would topping them off after repotting help to do that?v I just want it to thrive instead of just hanging on.
