Your carpet and walls are neutrals so that is good! Ikea has lots of good ideas for smaller places. What's your budget?

I think the best place for a bed is under the small window next to the door leading outside. Is there any kind of closet?

is there no closet in that room? you can't have a bed, a wardrobe and a vanity. you will have to do your makeup elsewhere. can you switch out the blinds? will he let you paint the room in a soft gray or even a better white color?? Ask him if you can do another white color.

What's wrong with her white? She already said she can't paint. It looks fine.

well i'm sure the landlord wouldn't mind if it's another coat of white. that's why I asked. Not telling her to paint another color.

it looks like a dingy white. hence, asking if she could do a brighter coat of white.

Some landlords don't want a build up of many, many coats of paint over the years. Especially by inexperienced painters.

There is one small closet, which is why I want a storage bed so I have 4 drawers to use as my dresser without needing another piece of furniture! I'm attaching photos of things I like to maybe spark some ideas! And maybe dark grey curtains? I just love everything grey, so maybe add color with plants or artwork?

Good to hear there is a closet! Now the bed has to placed so you can access the drawers-so not against a wall. Is that going to be possible?

I'd wait on drapes a minute unless you already know what you want!

holly, look at the 3rd pic I posted w/the gray duvet, to keep it from looking too dreary, bring in a large white rug, some natural wood items, maybe the ikea white vanity (it's shallow) and lots of plants.

look into a tapestry gray/white duvet cover and then do the solid gray curtain.

ikea vanity (or the one jansgirl posted) , wood accents, and maybe some gold, like that lamp jansgirl posted.

gray drapes like these and notice the natural wood elements. dark gray throw, gray velvet pillow shams, fluffy white rug,,etc.

Oh yes-You 'll need something that is a natural rustic finish like Beth suggests.
