Use the Foliage Pro 9-6-5. The Dr Earth stuff may lack essential micronutrients and requires soil microbes that are normally lacking in container mixes.

Gardengal why no dry organic fertilizer for container? I use epsoma citrus toner that is dry every four weeks.

Dry or granular organics require the actions of soil microorganisms to be converted into plant usable nutrients (soluble salts). Most commercial potting soils and mixes like Al's 5-1-1 or gritty mix contain minimal populations of soil microbes, if any, so nothing there to digest and process the fertilizers. They are pretty much just a wasted effort.

You are marginally better off with a liquid organic, however they are not as plentiful and typically are shy in the range of micronutrients they offer. To maximize the potential of your containerized plants, a water soluble or liquid synthetic like one of the Dyna Gro products is much preferred or a controlled release that provides a full range of micros.

I got mine at dealzer.com because i ordered a couple rootmaker pots onsale and they have good prices on suppmemental lighting and they happened to have it . Its a website that is geared toward growing marijuana though if you dont mind shopping there. Vladimir, i seperated the meyer and key lime as you told me in anouther post in the 5 1 1. The meyer did great but the key lime lost allll its leafs as of today. Does that mean its dieing? Can i do anything to try to help it?

Hopefully it's just shock and will leaf out again. Keep it in shade and barely moist. Until it starts growing again it won't need as much water, and you want to keep the rootball out of summer sun/heat.

Lauren, I am sorry I did not read your post above. Follow Hibiscus' suggestions for caring for your key lime. Don't give up on it yet. Keep it in the shade and give it time.

Anthony..My question is , why are you using materials that will clog up your mix and suppress oxygen from getting to the roots of your trees in a short amount of time? Why are you counting on soil biota to help your trees absorb them when potted mixes don't contain them or they are not reliable enough to help?
