A bigger pot would probably help. It is probably getting too hot by the end of the day in the South facing window. But, where are you located? Is there any chance you can get that plant outside?

Thanks guys for answering it is just been repotted in that when it fell and broke I used orchid mix that I had in big bags in my potting shed and I'm only feeding half a teaspoon of miracle gro per gallon of water that I use on all my potted plants. I watered it two weeks ago and and done the wooden dowl stick today and it's still moist about an inch and a half down so it doesn't need a drink just now I'm in Scotland UK so putting my plants outside is never an option for me it was torrential rain as I write this and there is more to come no let up plus it drops down to 33 to 30 night temps here I'm just curious as to why it droops at this time of night 5-30pm when it is still broad daylight outside? tg

Orchid mix is chunky enough that you'd really have to try hard to overwater the plant IMO. In case of doubt, water it a bit. Two weeks sounds like a long time for a well-draining mix, especially Orchid.

Other than that, did the newly regrown plant experience much direct sunlight, even through a window, since regrowing? That can be hard on the plant for the first few times.

Yah, two weeks in orchid mix without watering is too long normally. Also, don't just dump some water on it and call it good. The mix may have totally dried out at some point which causes it to become water averse. That means, it will be resistant to accepting moisture. If that happens, what you need to do is put the container with plant in a larger pot and fill it up with water so the plant essentially becomes flooded. After ten or fifteen minutes of soaking, the mix should start accepting moisture again. Otherwise, when you try to water it, the water will just run straight through the mix and out the bottom of the container.

Which brings up another point. Make sure your pot has holes in the bottom so that water doesn't collect in the bottom. That could cause similar problems like what you are seeing.

Esox I hear what you're saying mate its a proper plant pot with holes in the bottom and everything lol it was given a right good soaking when I transplanted it two weeks ago and believe me it's just nice moist the soil hasn't had a chance to dry out completely and I know not to over do it when watering it's completely healthy as I said it's just this bizarre drooping at tea time that has me flummoxed lol anyway thanks for your valuable feedback mate I do appreciate it.
