Black spots on newly installed marble floor

I just went to put the sealer on my new marble floor and found these 3 spots. I sent the picture to the tile shop and they said it might be part of the stone. No way. The bottom o e is slightly smeared from me using a wet green scrubbie. They are all uniform and the only thing on the tile that's like that. No place else. I know the tile guy will say he didn't do it. Would you just put the sealer over it? The tile shop also suggested a poultice stone. I've never used anything like that. Any ideas? Thank you!

Thanks for your comment. The contractor said it was part of the stone and the tile shop said maybe it was. I doubt it because the spots were round dots until I scrubbed the bottom one and it smeared. Anyway, I put the sealer on--I'm tired of this project. I do have one other dark spot that obviously is part of a tile and like you, my eye goes right to it.

I have a mosaic backsplash that features small marble pieces and I also have a couple of dark spots. There is one at eye level that I constantly see. I just assumed it was a characteristic of the stone. Had I seen it during install I would have pulled that piece.

Hopefully someone else can offer better advice.

Did your spots get worse? I just noticed a group of black spots pop up on one of my newly installed porcelain tiles in my shower right before sealing. One of the workers came to clean and seal the shower and said he'd get it off but it's still there and he has sealed the whole thing. My guess is he couldn't get it off. My contractor is coming to look tomorrow but he is already upset and saying it's not his fault. I was only upset that his worker would have sealed over dirt or something worse before I could try other methods to get it clean.

Mine have stayed the same. It doesn't bother me now. I added it to the list of things that contractors have done that I've learned to live with.

I will, thanks. My contractor asked if I wanted him to try an acid cleaner and I said definitely not. We have had some other issues regarding cuts around the shower niche so he has decided to monetarily compensate us for all the trouble we have had with this tile install. I would have rather had a better job done from the beginning but at least it's something.

That contractor is fired are you even sure its an actual Con-tractor

Licensed and everything was permitted and all inspections passed. His problem was he juggles too many projects at once and I think I got the "C" team.

Marble, as all natural products, has grains, color variations and imperfections.

Your floor is not a complete slab which you could have inspected before you purchased/installed.

Anytime you buy pieces, you will not get perfect as each maybe from multiple slabs, (read leftovers).
