Yeah, one inch in itself is not going to make a huge difference on a deck which is already 4", plus the bathtub edge. It's more to do with the aesthetic of the overhang, I think. Sorry, but what do you mean by "Unless you miter your apron"? The wall below the deck will be subway tiles. The deck could sit on it flush, or extend half an inch or the full inch. Right now, it is being made at 1", but if I don't like it when I see it in place, it can be pushed into the plasterboard a little to decrease the overhang.

Sorry, I know this is all very anal. When this reno is over I probably will never think about these details again!
