Beadboard help

I'm in the process of putting the finishing touches on my bathroom Reno but have run into a bit of a design snag. The bead board will have a total height of 37 1/8 inches but my vanity height is 34 1/4 inches high. Do I put the bead board behind the vanity and only have a 3 inch beadboard backsplash or will that not look right?!?! I should also mention the marble backsplash which is 3.5 inches in height is short by about a 1/4 of an inch too short!! Wonderful I know right!! Please any idea would be awesome
