Feature wall. Help me get a wow factor.

This whole house remodel has taken about a year and I still cant decide what to do with this dining room wall. Because its the first thing you see when you walk in the front door, I want it to have a wow factor. This picture is taken with no lights on to take into consideration natural light. I've been mulling over wall paper but because of the shape, I have been extremely uncertain. All the walls are painted Gossamer Veil by Sherwin Williams. The floors are Burnt Umber bamboo. I would really appreciate your opinion on what you think the wall would look like given its shape. Would wallpaper look ok? Maybe I shouldn't wallpaper the entire thing? Maybe an inset would balance it out? Any ideas please. I'm stuck and my imagination ran out, lol.

ART large piece look at art.com

Love the idea of wallpaper and then a good sized piece of art. Additionally, a more prominent chandelier to help compliment the decor. Looks like a living space with some pretty navy chairs in same area...Art/decor preference? Even drapery panels to bring in more color..Since this is a combo, rooms should compliment...Can you post a picture of the living area? Windows?

i actually have a different post on finding the right ceiling fan/light to hang in the living area. Maybe you can give me some insight on that...link: https://www.houzz.com/discussions/light-or-ceiling-fan-dsvw-vd~4804708

@radhanoo I love that abstract wall paper. I think it's just what I need, then I wouldn't have to worry about the slanted ceiling. Thank you!

Instead of choosing a wallpaper, you can hanging wall arts. This way, it will be easier to replace it when you opt to have occasional theme. Here's an example:

Original wall art source: Elephant Family in the Wild

There might be specific designs that you want and it is possible for you to have it customized.

Silvia, you could also do a stencil. pick a darker color and then use the same color in a gloss for the stencil (or you could do a dark or lighter or contrasting color). there are thousands of ideas you could do to mimic wallpaper (and a lot cheaper too). Check out RoyalDesignStudio.com or Cuttingedgestencils.com for the stencils and pics.

Was just going to suggest painting blue and stenciling as well. Love Beth's examples. Put wallpaper money toward your chandelier - hung lower. Your LR rug is also rather small for the area. I may work better if you turn in the other way and then bring in the furniture a little so that at least the front of each is on the rug.

I really like your touches of yellow - happy. Looks like you can widen your curtain rod a little and spread out your drapery panel just a tad so it doesn't cover the window but just comes to edge..

I would just go with a darker color paint for now and live with it for a while then if you change your mind you could add removable decals to the wall , painting stencil might sound like fun but if you later decide to paint over them you will have a lot of sanding to do ,our dining room had a sponging technique done and when we had to paint over it our painter wasn't very pleased . Ignore the sloped ceiling but move the love seat away from the window ,its too clos to it and on top of that the sun will bleach it .

You are so right about the chandelier, definitely needs something bigger. And I love the idea of painting a navy blue color on the wall. It was actually my first thought when thinking of what to do but always hesitated because i thought it would make the room too dark. But maybe the blue with some large art panels would be the way to go.

Make that a gallery wall or put a traditional wallpaper mural on it.

Painting the accent wall will give you the biggest bang for the dollar. Invest in other items to pull together the look to get the wow factor you are trying to achieve. If you are not going to invest in new furnishings I would center love-seat on the window and bring chairs closer to the rug and to create a conversation area. Table between the chairs could be a nice balance to the left of sofa with the lamp on it. A photo of the table in right corner window would be appreciated. New chandeliers would be beneficial to this space as well. The console table in the dining room looks out of place. What are the measurements of love-seat and table as you could possibly use this behind sofa with the lamp or new lamps for height and balance. Or try placing in front of window in dining room. Drapery rod higher and wider with fuller drapes would soften the window. Good luck hope this helps.

You have some serious scale going on in your rooms! Love them! Anthropologie has beautiful mural type wallpapers that could work in your room......but I would just go with a navy blue, I think BM Hale Navy is a designer favorite, or any other color you love and want to use in the room and just paint the one angled wall and decorate around that.

Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore Accent wall in dining room....big big area rug helps too for scale. You want two to three feet behind each chair so you can pull in and out with out moving off the carpet.

Did a house with very similar color tones and they used orange as an accent and it looked amazing. I would pain the wall an orange tone. From there you could do as Beth suggested by using stencils. You might like just the orange and not need the stencils but at least you will have the options. Paint = $30.

By the way orange is a rough color to paint so plan on a couple coats. Use a good roller and get good wet 25% overlap up and down coats. What happens is when you roll over sometimes it pulls the yellow tones back up due to pulling the thickness of the paint off with dry coats. Keep it wet.

I actually bought 2 of the orbs you see there to place over the table, but decided not to because the table isn't very big. My husband doesn't like it so replacing is no problem. I like bold...what do you have in mind?

The real questions to ask yourself is what your tolerance level is for having to clean crystal/beading/the general fussiness that is (usually, anyway) a chandelier.
