this hood! tell me more about the hood please

It is a wood hood that was painted by a decorative painter to give it the feel of a bronze patinated metal.

I am struggling to find a hood to go into my kitchen and it is holding up my renovation. I keep coming back to this hood. I only have a 36 inch opening. Do you think a hood like this would work? If so, where could I find a hood that is wide like this one all the way up (most get too skinny for my taste)? My kitchen layout is almost identical to this one, but slightly smaller. Thank you.

You might be better off with a square hood that swoops towards the back, but has a similar look. How big is your range or cooktop?

Here are a couple of hoods that might work for the design, not necessarily materials. It's hard to give advice without seeing it, but hopefully this helps. Thanks for your quick response. My range is only 30 inches, but we left 36 inches for the hood. I would actually prefer a square hood that swoops back. Do you know of a good place to get/order them in the 36 inch size?

Thanks again. The hood designed for the small space is great, but I would need it to go to the ceiling. We aren't planning to put our cabinets up to the ceiling since they are 9 feet and since the kitchen isn't big, so we are struggling with how tall the cabinets should be (36 or 42 inches) and what looks best with a hood that goes to the ceiling?!? We don't want cabinets to look out of proportion or too skinny (cabinets to the left and right of the hood are only 18 inches, then there is a doorway after one of the cabinets and another cabinet (L shaped) on the wall perpendicular to the other 18 inch cabinet). At a loss....would be much easier if this didn't need to go to the ceiling to vent out.

Vent-A-Hood might be a good place to start if you need the blower insert. CopperSmith is another, but I recommend working with your contractor or a professional to make sure it fits, that you have the correct blower for your local codes and to determine the size and height.

Hi @Liz Schupanitz Designs! I'm looking at the WZ tile for our remodel. Could you tell me if you used a Schluter or the bullnose for your project?
