Green Mountains Hosta has been having reduced price sale for a while. I just got few great looking ones from there.

Naylor Creek used to put sale hostas on the Hosta Library auction site. They would also put together nice collections of small and mini hostas for auction. Wish they would do that again, it was great to be able to add new minis for a reasonable price.

One of the two plants I bought last week from Green Mountain was on sale. They may have more on sale by now. I was just about to say that I will check out Hallson but I do NOT need anymore plants this year.

There have been few listings on the Hosta Auction this summer, where did everyone sell their plants? Last year there were many more listings.

Plant World has everything on sale this weekend for those of us in the Toronto area. Although not specifically a Hosta speciality nursery, it often brings in some rare hostas towards the end of the season- presumably because the suppliers haven't yet sold...my speculation. On Sunday the discount will be 40%.

Um, Beverly - I looked at their FB site.... looks like that was last Christmas - through January 1. Unless I'm not seeing something you're seeing.

oops, thats what I get for chiming in too quickly. Boy, that means they have had no updates since then. I hope all is OK there. I heard the specials were on Face Book, so I looked. That's the only one I saw.

I did look at "Hosta Buyers Guide" but I am not a member and although people say to look there I have not heard or seen an example of something someone bought. There is another one - "for everyone" - but nothing to buy has been posted since mid July and there are a lot of other posts to wade through. I prefer a nice catalog style sale with descriptions and pictures.

Rob Canning (Lakeside) is selling on facebook under Rob's Hostas, and I believe there is a more general hosta sale site on fb as well. Rob is in the process of moving thousands of hostas, and has had some very nice prices on both classic and rare hostas. Lots of Lakesides, obviously, including some that were never registered, but he is also selling divisions of unnamed seedlings that are one of a kind.

Rats! I do have a few of the Lakeside mini's on my want list, but I refuse to do FB. If you find any other way to look at his sales, let me know.

tsbccowboy, thanks for that hosta buyers guide link! It is pretty active and some good pictures are posted. There was stunning Awakening Angel grown in pot, a beauty! Green Mountain hosta fortunately has some for sale.

Got a delivery from Hallson's today with plants I can't find at my local Hosta dealer. The plants looked small at first until I unwrapped the roots. The roots on the plants I got were all quite impressive. They did a good job packing them to keep the roots just slightly damp. Soaked them for an hour and potted them until I can get them into permanent homes in the next couple of weeks.
