Help identifying very tall thorny bush

I have several of these on my property that flower in early to mid June in zone 6 but then flower very little late. I'm thinking they are some type of rose because of the thorns but I'm not sure. The older stems are upwards of 10-11 feet tall and are an inch plus in diameter at the base. They stems lean very far over so I'd like to figure what they are before I remove them or cut them back severely.

I'm not sure of exact species, but it does seem like a rose of some type?

Thanks for checking. It's tough to see from the picture but the canes get pretty thick and the flop way over. I've used rope to tie them up so they don't lean six feet into the yard. I would have removed it already if it wasn't so big and full of thorns. They look great for a couple weeks while in bloom but otherwise don't add much to the landscape
