Gone own root?

We had an unusually hard winter and most of my roses died completely to the ground, including my Fragrant Clout. She was also one of the latest to show any signs of life and for a while I was sure she was a goner. But she came back, although not as strong as last year.

A few days ago I was working in the yard and noticed a milkweed growing up out of Fragrant Cloud, so I pulled it out (it was pretty loose) but the rose almost came out with it and was now laying flat on the side, with a healthy looking bundle of roots coming out of the bottoms of the canes and it seemed (at least in part) to be pretty well anchored when I gave it a gentle tug.

Here you can see the old graft to the right that is completely dead and the rose growing on the left, this is the bundle that came out.

Better view of the own root? bundle, the roots start just below those canes, thought I did try to bury them as best as I could without disturbing the roots that were in the ground.

And the whole rose. Definitely Fragrant Clout, both in color and smell, about knee high but seems not to be too disturbed with the ordeal. I propped her up with a cage for support.
