The Stainless Steel mailbox attaches with screws. Attachment screws are typically provided with the post(sold separately). We recommend the wood base unit called the 'Modern Mailbox' that comes with everything you need, including this stainless steel mailbox.

Hi there! We have an existing post and base that I'd like to reuse if possible. Our current mailbox is nailed to the base through holes that run along the bottom of each side (there's a metal lip that the nails go through, so the actual "box" isn't compromised by holes). From looking at your pictures, it looks like a pretty similar design. Does that sound right?

As seen in the photos above, the holes along the base are for screw attachment.
